Saturday, January 6th in Swanville | 11am – 3pm

A fun and informative session around the fire carving spoons or bowls. Using coals from the fire we will hollow vessels, we’ll also cover blade tool safety, wood selection, and finishing. All are encouraged to bring their own knives and blanks; we will also provide materials and equipment for those who need them. Bring a pair of workable gloves that give some warmth and get excited to create something beautiful.

Dress for warmth and bring lunch and snacks.
We will be outside for the entirety of this workshop.

This event is for all ages and abilities. Please do not bring pets.

Ages 10 and under welcome if accompanied by an adult.

You are welcome to attend alone or with others!

Sliding scale $5 – $45. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Caitlin Horigan (she/her) is an advocate of self-directed education and anti-oppression changework. She has been facilitating place-based nature connection programming in the nonprofit sector, public schools, and after-school programs throughout the North East for ten years.

She is on a journey of reconnecting with her ancestral lineages through deepening relationship with the skills and traditions of these lineages and the people indigenous to the land she lives with now. Caitlin is a Wilderness First Responder, certified in CPR, and pursuing a Recreational Maine Guide license. In 2019 she completed a graduate certificate in Ecopsychology through Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is also a Certified Forest Therapy Guide. Caitlin is committed to increasing the accessibility of programming she offers and continues to explore how to survive in a capitalist system while doing so.
